PHOTOS Of What Transpired After Lagos Doctor Bagged Life Imprisonment For Rape
In the sitting of the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court in Ikeja on Tuesday, Doctor Olufemi Olaleye, the Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the exploitation of his wife’s niece.
Olaleye faced two charges related to defilement and sexual assault by penetration of his wife’s niece, as filed against him by the Lagos State Government. Justice Rahman Oshodi delivered the sentence after finding him guilty of defilement and sexual penetration of a 15-year-old girl.
The judge affirmed that the prosecution successfully established its case beyond a reasonable doubt, with all the evidence presented in court aligning with the victim’s account.
Olaleye was accused of engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with his wife’s 15-year-old niece.
He was also charged with sexually assaulting the teenager by engaging in an inappropriate act.
During the trial, Aderemi Olaleye, the convict’s wife, testified that her husband had been sexually abusing her niece throughout her stay with them. She also disclosed that the convict initially introduced explicit material and explicit acts to the victim, ultimately engaging in an inappropriate act. She stated that this misconduct persisted from March 2020 until July 2021.
The witness narrated to Justice Oshodi that the girl confided in a relative and their driver about the doctor’s actions. She also stated that the doctor threatened to harm her and the witness if she disclosed the abuse.
As the complainant and mother of two, she affirmed on oath, “My lord, on November 27, 2021, my second cousin told my aunty, who is my mother’s sister, that since March 2020, Femi has been sexually abusing her and introduced her to p0rnography; from there, he graduated to oral s3x with her, and that he does this in different places in the home where there are no cameras.”
