PDP Crisis Deepens Ahead of Convention as Wike’s Camp Fires at Makinde

The heat inside the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) just got hotter as a leading member of the Wike-led faction, Timothy Osadolor, has accused Governor Seyi Makinde of fueling internal chaos because of his alleged 2027 presidential ambition.

Osadolor, who also serves as PDP’s Deputy National Youth Leader, claims Makinde’s “personal political project” is worsening tensions ahead of the party’s planned Ibadan convention, describing it as “an early Christmas party” and not a legitimate national convention.

He warned that holding the convention without reconciliation will only push the PDP deeper into division and questioned how a party that can’t follow its own rules intends to govern a nation.

Osadolor’s words:
“Governor Makinde should fold his presidential ambition in his pocket and help rebuild the PDP. Talking about convention now without unity is arrogance.”

With the PDP already split between Wike’s camp and other governors, could this be the beginning of another major breakup before 2027?
