Pasuma acquires new house in honour of late mum

Wasiu Alabi, the Fuji singer better known as Pasuma, has unveiled a new mansion in memory of his late mother Adijat Kuburat.

Kuburat, popularly called Iyawo Anobi, passed away in 2023. She single-handedly raised Pasuma, who has often credited her as the biggest influence in his life.

In an Instagram post on Friday, the music star dedicated the new mansion to his mother’s memory, describing the gesture as his way of celebrating what would have been her birthday.

“To my dearest mother, your love remains a constant light in my life,” he wrote.

“Wishing you the happiest birthday in heaven Iyami. Celebrating your birthday with a new home.”

Pasuma grew up in the Mushin area of Lagos state. He began writing songs in 1984 after drawing inspiration from his role model K1 De Ultimate.

In 1993, he unveiled his debut album, ‘Recognition’, which marked the beginning of his journey into Fuji music.

Since then, Pasuma has released over 30 albums and established himself as one of the most successful artistes in the Fuji genre.

Over the years, he has earned several awards, including the City People Entertainment Award for Best Fuji Artiste.

Beyond music, he has featured in Nollywood films such as ‘Iyanje’ and ‘Alenibare’.

Through his Pasuma Wonder Foundation, the singer also supports education and healthcare initiatives.
