Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo Says It’s Not Biblical for Men to Provide for Women
The Founder of David’s Christian Centre, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, has sparked debate after declaring that it is not biblical for men to provide for women.
He stressed that while such expectations may be cultural, the Bible instead emphasizes hard work and personal responsibility for both genders.
Speaking during a recent sermon, the clergyman urged women not to depend on men for financial support, warning that such reliance diminishes their value.
He questioned why women who had sustained themselves before marriage suddenly shift the burden of survival to their partners, describing the mentality as “poor people talk.”
Pastor Okonkwo further criticized women who rate their worth based on what men can provide, noting that this often leads to mistreatment.
He cautioned women to embrace self-sufficiency, insisting that true empowerment lies in independence rather than dependency.
