Owo Deserves Federal Representation – Ojigbo Adeola Urges ondo Finance Commissioner to Run for Senate
An appeal has been made to the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Omowumi Isaac, to consider contesting for the Ondo North Senatorial seat in the upcoming elections.
In an open letter addressed to the commissioner, Hon. Ojigbo Adeola, a member of the 5th Assembly of the Nigeria Youth Parliament representing Ondo North, urged her to step forward and provide strong representation for the people of Owo Local Government Area and the wider Ondo North district at the federal level.
Adeola noted that while the Akoko axis currently enjoys significant federal presence with two ministers, Owo and surrounding communities require a powerful voice in the Senate to push for development, infrastructure, and balanced political representation in the district.
He described Omowumi Isaac as a capable and experienced leader whose track record in managing the finances of Ondo State demonstrates the competence needed to represent the people effectively at the national level.

Open Letter to Hon. Omowumi Isaac, Commissioner of Finance, Ondo State
Hon. Omowumi Isaac
Commissioner for Finance
Ondo State Government
Dear Hon. Omowumi Isaac,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I write to you as a concerned citizen of Ondo State, particularly from the Owo Local Government Area, with a humble but urgent request that I believe will resonate deeply with the people of Owo and Ondo North as a whole.
Over the years, you have proven yourself to be a dynamic and capable leader through your service as the Commissioner for Finance. Your work in driving fiscal responsibility, economic growth, and transparent governance for Ondo State has not gone unnoticed. It is with this profound respect for your leadership that I now call upon you to consider taking a bolder step in your political journey.
*Owo Needs a Strong Voice in the Senate:*
While we acknowledge the tremendous contributions of the people of Akoko, who currently have two ministers serving at the federal level—the Minister of Interior and the Minister of State for Finance—the people of Owo, as well as the wider Ondo North Senatorial District, are in dire need of an equally strong, dynamic voice in the Senate. Owo has long been underrepresented at the federal level, and now, more than ever, we need someone with your expertise and passion to step up and fight for our people.
Akoko has had the privilege of having two prominent ministers, which has brought immense attention and development to the region. While this is commendable, Owo, with its rich history and untapped potential, deserves representation at the highest level to balance the political leadership in Ondo North. As a commissioner, you have already demonstrated your capability in managing state finances and shaping policies that benefit the masses—qualities that will serve you well in the Senate.
*Why You Are the Best Candidate:*
Rescuing Owo from Neglect: The people of Owo are in need of a leader who understands their struggles and can advocate for resources, infrastructure, and policies that will uplift the region. With your strong background in finance and governance, you are uniquely positioned to lead this charge. The time has come for Owo to have a Senator who truly represents the aspirations of the people and secures the support we need for growth and development.
Balancing Political Representation: While Akoko has been fortunate to have two federal ministers, Owo has not had equal representation in the corridors of power. Your candidacy for the Senate would provide the much-needed political balance and ensure that Owo’s needs and aspirations are given the attention they deserve.
A Leader with Experience: Your experience as the Commissioner for Finance has equipped you with a deep understanding of the state’s financial landscape, budgeting, and economic policy. This knowledge would be invaluable in the Senate, especially in advocating for fiscal reforms, budget allocations, and securing funding for key development projects that will directly benefit the people of Owo and the larger Ondo North district.
Gender and Youth Empowerment: Your candidacy would also set an important precedent for female leadership in Ondo State and across Nigeria. Your success would inspire young women and men alike, showing that with dedication and competence, anyone can rise to the highest levels of leadership.
Conclusion:
Hon. Isaac, the people of Owo look to you as a beacon of hope and progress. We need a senator who will fight relentlessly for the development of our region, someone who understands the intricacies of governance and has the tenacity to tackle the challenges we face. You have already demonstrated these qualities in your role as Commissioner for Finance, and I believe that your continued service at the federal level as a Senator will be a game-changer for our people.
I urge you to consider stepping forward and answering the call of duty to serve as our Senator. The people of Owo and Ondo North deserve a champion who will advocate for their interests, and I am confident that you are the right person for this mission.
Thank you for your time, your service, and your unwavering dedication to the people of Ondo State. I look forward to seeing your leadership take Owo and Ondo North to greater heights.
Yours sincerely,
Hon. Ojigbo Adeola
5th Assembly Representative of Ondo North Senatorial District, Nigeria Youth Parliament, Abuja
