Otti’s Aide breaks silence over Claims Linking Him To Death Sentence Report On Ikpeazu

The media aide to Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has rejected allegations that the governor was behind a false report claiming that his predecessor, Okezie Ikpeazu, was sentenced to death by an Abia State High Court for alleged theft of ₦1 trillion.

The report, which circulated online, alleged that the said money was discovered in Ikpeazu’s foreign account.

Ikpeazu, in response, dismissed the story, describing it as a complete fabrication meant to mislead the public.

Former Abia State Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, also condemned the publication, describing it as a cybercrime and accusing individuals linked to Otti of being behind it. He called on security agencies to track down those responsible.

Reacting to the allegation, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Special Adviser to Governor Otti on Media and Publicity, said the governor had no connection to the false report.

He maintained that Otti could not have sponsored anyone to spread such a story, stressing that dragging the governor’s name into the matter was an attempt to create division and exploit the situation for personal gain.

Ekeoma noted that Otti had always engaged in decent politics and had no reason to be associated with such publications against his predecessor. He described the claims as baseless and unnecessary.
