OSUN PDP Delegate Congress turns bloody, one feared dead, houses, cars burnt
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delegates Conference turned bloody in Osun State on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 as ine person was confirmed dead at Ward 14, Oke-Oba 1, Agberire, in Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State.
According to a Press Release by the NSCDC made available by Atanda Olabisi, the Command Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred on Wednesday as a result of crisis, which broke out among factional members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The statement added that the Osun Commandant of the NSCDC, Emmanuel Ocheja, has assured residents of adequate security of lives and property.
Ocheja reiterated that the command in synergy with other sister agencies was on top of the situation and normalcy had already been restored.
He also implored citizens to go about their lawful businesses and report any suspicious movement to the authorities.
The Osun Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had commenced the 3-man ad-hoc delegates conference, which would end on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
Also, a similar incident was reported at Ipetumodu, the headquarters of Ife North Local Government Area of the state as the PDP 3-man ad-hoc delegates congress turned bloody.
It was gathered that as a result of the violence, several houses and vehicles were burnt, but no life was lost.
