The Speaker of the Ondo State Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Smith Ikumapayi has called for more investment in the education sector of the State as a form of empowerment to the young persons.
Rt. Hon. Ikumapayi made this call yesterday, 18th July, 2020 while adressing all the two hundred (200) beneficiaries of the scholarship offered by the Honorable representing Akoko South West/East Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ade Adeogun.
He described Hon. Adeogun as a lover of quality education who has taken a very bold decision by investing in the future of the young persons from his constituency.
“Let me on behalf of the Ondo State Youth Parliament appreciate you sir for making the future of the young persons in your constituency your top priority, taking 200 people out of illiteracy is an empowerment that should not be taking with levity hands, it’s a rare privilege, it takes a representative that knows his onions to arrive at this bold decision and we are proud to be identified with you sir”
He also encouraged the beneficiaries not to abuse this golden opportunity thrown at them he stressed that cultism, drug abuse and other social vices should be shun outrightly.
He reiterated that they must continue to encourage Hon. Adeogun to do more by making him proud in their respective departments and distancing themselves from activities that could mar this program from further continuation.
Rt. Hon. Ikumapayi also call on several other people holding one position of authority or the other to always strive to priotize education, he describes this as the only empowerment that is highly sustainable.
