Olufowobi Launches Grassroots Mobilisation Drive, Sets 200,000-Vote Target for APC in Epe

The Director General of the APC Grassroots Engagement Network (APC-GEN), Patriot Olufowobi Olarewaju Desmond, has announced a renewed grassroots engagement and mobilisation initiative aimed at strengthening the APC’s presence across Epe Division ahead of the 2027 elections.

Olufowobi, who also serves as Senior Special Assistant to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, on Community Engagement, said the initiative is designed to mobilise APC members to engage directly with communities and voters across Epe Division.

The initiative will cover Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin, with emphasis on reaching communities, listening to residents, engaging stakeholders and building stronger relationships between the party and the electorate.

According to Olufowobi, APC-GEN is setting an ambitious target of 200,000 votes for the APC across Epe Division in the 2027 elections, compared with the less than 50,000 votes recorded by the party in the 2023 elections.

He explained that achieving the target would require more than political rallies. It would require proper grassroots organisation, continuous community engagement, committed volunteers and the active participation of party members.

“Our focus is simple. We want our party members to go into the communities, listen to the people, understand their concerns and engage them meaningfully. If we want to increase our votes, we must first increase our engagement with the people,” Olufowobi said.

The initiative, known as the APC-GEN Epe Division Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation Initiative, will also focus on youth and women participation, stakeholder engagement, volunteer mobilisation and community outreach.

The first major engagement is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Otunba Dejonwo Multipurpose Hall in Epe.

Olufowobi said the initiative will provide an opportunity for party leaders, stakeholders, youth and women leaders, community leaders and grassroots mobilisers to come together and develop a practical strategy for improving the APC’s electoral performance in the division.

He added that the initiative will complement the campaign efforts of the KOH Campaign Organisation 2027 and contribute to building a stronger grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 Lagos State Governorship Election.

“Our message is clear. We are moving from mobilisation by numbers to mobilisation through structure, engagement and commitment. The 200,000 target is ambitious, but we believe that with the right organisation and genuine engagement with our people, we can significantly improve the performance of the APC in Epe Division,” he said.

The initiative is expected to become a sustained grassroots engagement platform, with activities extending beyond the September gathering to communities and wards across Epe Division.
