Obi Cubana Breaks Silence On Top Assignment Amid APC Backlash
According to reports, popular Nigerian businessman Obinna Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, has remained undeterred despite criticism following his recent political engagement. Obi Cubana was recently appointed as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, an All Progressives Congress (APC) group advocating for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
The appointment sparked backlash on social media, with critics accusing the businessman of aligning with an administration they claim has contributed to widespread economic difficulties in the country.
In response, Obi Cubana took to his Facebook page to emphasize that his foremost focus remains spiritual, stating, “The most important assignment now is winning souls for Christ.” He added that his week had been blessed and fruitful, expressing gratitude for time spent in God’s presence.
In a separate engagement, Obi Cubana commended Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his leadership, describing him as God-fearing, people-focused, and development-driven. During a visit to the Government House in Asaba alongside Pastor Jerry Eze, Cubana expressed confidence in the Governor’s ability to successfully complete the Millennium City project by December 2026, adding, “Delta State is indeed blessed to have a God-fearing and development-oriented Governor.”
Cubana also praised Governor Oborevwori for his accessibility and openness, noting that their collaboration would continue to bring positive developments to the state.
