North Used însêcurity To Thrôw Out Jonathan In 2014 – Former Lawmaker
A former member of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Yusuf, has blamed the worsening insecurity in the nation on political manipulation.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television, Yusuf claimed that the North is complicit and has played a role in making the bandits bolder in carrying out their nefarious acts.
He argued that the North used banditry as a tool to undermine the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The erstwhile lawmaker asserted that the only way to pull Nigeria out of the situation is to ensure that nobody is above the law.
Yusuf said, “We are where we are today because when it started, we deliberately played politics with it. People were looking at who’s in power, who’s not in power.
“The north is complicit and played a major role in giving these people feathers; they saw it as an opportunity to throw out Jonathan in 2014. And people played a lot of politics with it. And that’s where we are today.
“So if we are genuinely sincere that we want to get out of this, we must be passionate, sincere with ourselves, and we must make sure no Nigerian, regardless of his position, will be above the law.
“If you cross the line, you’re gone. So we must get the necessary political backup to get what’s right.”
