Nollywood Actress Doris Ogala file case, Demands ₦1bn in Legal Claim Against Pastor Chris Okafor

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala is demanding ₦1 billion from Pastor Chris Okafor.

The claim is based on allegations that Okafor did not fulfill a promise to marry her. Ogala’s legal team, Synergy Law Partners, has issued a formal demand for payment.

. “Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, through her legal counsel Synergy Law Partners, has issued a formal demand for ₦1 billion in damages from Pastor Chris Okafor.

. The claim asserts a breach of a long-standing marriage promise, with Ogala’s lawyers alleging that the cleric’s recent marriage to another woman constitutes a ‘calculated and publicly executed breach.’

. The demand letter gives the General Overseer of Grace Nation International a 21-day ultimatum to pay the sum or face a comprehensive lawsuit for emotional, reputational, and psychological harm.”

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala is reportedly seeking ₦1 billion from Pastor Chris Okafor the founder of Grace Nation Liberation City, alleging that he failed to honor a promise to marry her.

According to reports from Naija News, Ogala’s lawyers at Synergy Law Partners issued a formal demand, giving Pastor Okafor 21 days to fulfill the payment or face potential legal proceedings.
The correspondence claims that their relationship, which began in 2017, lasted nine years during which Pastor Okafor allegedly assured Ogala multiple times that he would marry her. Her legal team stated that these assurances were reinforced by his actions, including introducing her to his family and appearing with her at public functions.

Ogala reportedly made significant personal and financial decisions based on this promise, including leaving a difficult marriage and transferring funds to the pastor, one of which amounted to ₦45 million.

The dispute escalated after Pastor Okafor announced his engagement to another woman. Ogala’s lawyers claim this caused her emotional suffering, public embarrassment, and reputational harm. They also alleged that private photos of Ogala were shared without her consent.

While acknowledging that marriage itself cannot be compelled, the letter argues that the law allows for compensation when broken promises result in tangible harm. Ogala’s legal team is seeking both general and aggravated damages, pointing to the personal and public impact of the alleged breach.

Pastor Okafor and his representatives were unavailable for comment at the time of reporting.

The case has garnered attention in the public sphere, particularly after the pastor’s recent wedding proceeded despite Ogala’s threats to pursue legal action and disrupt the ceremony.
