Niyi Peters: How Bunmi Akinnaanu’s family used police to scare artistes from attending her burial
Niyi Peters, the musician, has alleged that the family of the late gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu used police intimidation to scare her colleagues away from participating in her funeral arrangements.
Akinnaanu died on January 12 after a prolonged and public struggle with a severe leg ailment.
Initial burial plans, widely shared by gospel artiste Alayo Melody, were later called off.Fellow singer Lanre Alewilese cited an “internal crisis” within the family as the reason, while the cleric Segun Arole revealed a conflict between the family and Akinnaanu’s colleagues over the funeral.
