Nigeria’s Silent Christian G€nocide: Jihadists Celebrate While Believers Are Sl∆ughtered

While Boko Haram terrorists openly gathered in the desert under black flags to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with hundreds of armed militants, Nigeria’s Christians faced another year of unrelenting horror.

Monitoring groups report that Islamic extremists killed roughly 8,222 Christians for their faith in 2025 alone. That’s about 22 believers murdered every single day. Another 25 were kidnapped daily, with over 8,400 abducted that year. Nigeria now accounts for around 80 percent of all Christian kidnappings worldwide.

More than 150,000 Christians were displaced by the violence.

The low point came during the “Black Christmas” raids in Plateau State. Between December 23 and 27, jihadists hit over 25 Christian villages at once. At least 240 innocents were slaughtered — many hacked to death in their sleep or burned alive in their homes.

This is not random crime or farmer-herder clashes. It is targeted jihad. Boko Haram, Fulani militants, and allied groups are waging war on Christianity in Africa’s most populous nation, sacking villages, torching churches, and erasing communities.

Western elites stay mostly silent, blaming “poverty” or “climate change” while the body count climbs. Nigeria’s government has failed to protect its people. The world looks away.
