The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a plan to build 4GW solar factories to tackle the country’s power deficit. Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, announced this initiative at the Nigerian Renewable Energy Innovation Forum 2025, emphasizing the administration’s shift from energy access to energy industrialization.

– *Domestic Manufacturing*: Develop nearly 4 gigawatts of solar panel manufacturing capacity annually

– *Energy Security*: Strengthen energy security through homegrown production and innovation
– *Renewable Energy*: Increase renewable energy adoption and promote clean energy technologies

The government aims to ensure solar panels and other clean energy technologies are “proudly made in Nigeria”, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s emphasis on local content and industrial self-reliance .
