Nigerian Police Detain Three Officers In Imo Caught Engaging In Alleged Cult Activities

The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest and detention of three officers identified in a viral video showing alleged unprofessional conduct.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Henry Okoye, the officers were identified as Inspector Obinna Peter, Corporal Amaechi Augustine, and Corporal Ejikeme Victor.
According to the release, the officers are currently in custody while a “thorough investigation into their alleged involvement in cultism and other related activities” is underway.
The Command disclosed that an Orderly Room Trial has been scheduled to begin on Monday.
“The conduct displayed in the viral video is highly unprofessional and does not reflect the discipline, ethics, and values of the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement read.
The Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, had earlier ordered a comprehensive probe into the incident after the video surfaced online, drawing widespread public criticism.
The Command assured the public that the outcome of the internal disciplinary process would be made known in due course, emphasising its commitment to professionalism, accountability, and transparency in police operations across the state.
