Nigeria Must Build Border Wall to Stop Terrorists From Neighbouring Countries — Defence Minister”

Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Christopher Musa, has called for the construction of a border wall and deployment of modern surveillance technology to stop terrorists, bandits, and other criminals from entering Nigeria through neighbouring countries.

Speaking on BBC Hausa, Musa said Nigeria’s porous borders allow armed groups to enter, carry out attacks, and escape. He noted that while walls cannot be built everywhere due to rivers and difficult terrain, technology can help monitor and track movements.

The minister urged Nigerians to report suspicious activities and warned citizens to stop supplying criminals with food, money, or information, describing such support as “blood money.” He added that the government is strengthening the military with more equipment and working with neighbouring countries to tackle cross-border insecurity.
