Nigeria And France Pledge To Deepen Cooperation In Trade, Education, Culture & Security Ties

Nigeria and France have pledged to deepen cooperation in trade, security, education, and culture .

This was during a meeting between Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, and France’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Marc Fonbaustier.

Bianca Ojukwu highlighted Nigeria’s readiness to implement agreements from President Bola Tinubu’s 2024 visit to France, covering energy, infrastructure, and education.

The minister sought for more French investment, assuring a secured business climate, and appreciated France for its support in counter-terrorism efforts.

The France ambassador Fonbaustier emphasized shared values and announced plans to host cultural events, including a Fela Kuti exhibition and the Forum Creation Africa in Lagos, October 16th to 18th, 2025.

The French Ambassador also commended Nigeria’s economic reforms, while extending an invitation to Bianca Ojukwu, to participate in France’s National Day on July 14.
