Nasir El-rufai’s Son, Ibrahim Renounces Islam, Lists Shócking Reasons He Hátes Arewa People

Ibrahim El-rufai, son of former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai has renounced Islam and declared that the people of Arewa disgust him.

In a video posted by Ibrahim on his Instagram account late 2025, he urged his followers who are averse to liberalism and who hail from the northern part of Nigeria to unfollow his account as they do not share similar values and belief. According to him, his views are different from the vast majority of the Arewa people whom he accuses of religious fanaticism, citing their specious support for the Palestine because of their religion and “not because they are human”, as he put it.

Ibrahim El-rufai criticizes the northern Nigeria Muslims, accusing them of engaging in chîld marriages and marrying their young daughters to páedóphilé in arranged marriages. He expressed concerns for northern women, insinuating that their rights are violated. According to him, the ways and belief of the Arewa people disgust him.

He warned Arewa people to stay clear off his social media handles, stating that he does not want to identify with their culture and religion. According to him, he has embraced liberalism and does not want to be associated with insincere and fake worship of the Arewa people who are desperate to become like the Arabs rather than their original selves.

He added that he is also disinterested in politics and does not have plans of venturing into politics in the footsteps of brothers and father.
