The abduction occurred on Sunday night when the armed assailants forcefully entered her residence in Angwan Jaba, Keffi, plunging the community into a state of confusion and concern.

Comfort Adokwe is a highly regarded member of the academic community, serving as a lecturer in the Faculty of Administration and holding the position of Deputy Director of Gender Studies at the university.

The chairman of the Community Development Association, Comrade Ali Sule, confirmed the distressing incident to Daily Post, shedding light on the harrowing details.

According to Comrade Ali Sule, the gunmen descended upon Adokwe’s residence late at night, terrorizing the vicinity with gunshots fired indiscriminately into the air. After creating a climate of fear, they forcibly took the lecturer to an undisclosed location.

The entire community is now gripped by anxiety and is earnestly praying for her safety and swift return.

Comrade Ali Sule expressed the community’s deep concern, stating, “It’s true, our beloved sister, Dr. Comfort Adokwe, was kidnapped last night by unknown gunmen at her residence in Angwan Jaba here in Keffi. We pray that God keeps her safe, secure, and protected and returns her safely to us. We are calling on security agencies to move into action and bring her back safely.”

This incident comes on the heels of another troubling event, as just one week ago, four students from Nasarawa State University were kidnapped from their hostel near Angwan Kare.

The abductors of these students have demanded a hefty ransom of N20 million for their release.

A student union leader within the university confirmed that the kidnappers had reached out to school authorities, escalating concerns about the safety and security of the academic community.

As the community awaits updates on the situation, both local residents and authorities are urging law enforcement agencies to take immediate action to secure the release of Comfort Adokwe and address the escalating security challenges in the area.
