NAF airstrike Combat Drone Destroys Terrorists’ Hideouts in Borno, About 70 Killed
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a major operational success following a precision air strike carried out by its combat drones against terrorist enclaves in Borno State, eliminating about 70 terrorists.
According to credible security sources, the air strike was executed on Thursday after intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets tracked the movement of suspected terrorists to a secluded location in the state. The militants were reportedly holding a high-level meeting when the NAF combat drone struck their hideouts with devastating accuracy.
The operation, which formed part of ongoing counter-terrorism offensives in the North-East, led to the complete destruction of the targeted camps. Several logistics structures, weapons storage facilities and operational equipment belonging to the terrorists were also destroyed in the strike.
Military sources confirmed that the precision-guided attack was aimed at degrading the terrorists’ command structure and disrupting their ability to plan and launch attacks against civilians and security forces. The timing of the strike, during the meeting, is believed to have significantly weakened the group’s leadership and coordination.
The Nigerian Air Force reiterated its commitment to sustaining air dominance in support of ground troops, stressing that intelligence-led operations remain critical to defeating terrorism and restoring lasting peace in the region.
Residents of nearby communities have expressed relief over the operation, noting that terrorist activities in the area had posed serious threats to lives, livelihoods and humanitarian efforts.
The military has assured Nigerians that air and ground operations will continue relentlessly until all terrorist elements are neutralized and normalcy fully returns to the North-East.
