Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Speaks From Sokoto Prison, Reveals God’s Plan For Ndi Igbos

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has spoken to the Ndi Igbo from Sokoto Medium Correctional Centre where he is serving his life sentence.

According to Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Kanu who visited the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on 17th of December, 2025, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in good spirits and is grateful to the Ndi Igbo for their resilience and determination in the face of the troubling challenges before them.

Mazi Nnamdi assured Ndi Igbo that God is by their side and that He is determined to fight for them and give them victory in a manner that no one will take the glory for His intervention. He said any who God opens his eyes will be able to see God’s perfect plan for the Igbos.

Kanu also assured his followers and the Igbos that he is not bordered by anything other than his commitment to the general good of all.

He thereafter advised Ndi Igbo to remain resolute, unwavering and determined, encouraging them not to lose hope.

Prince Kanu wrote: I just got back from a visit with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is at the Sokoto Medium Correctional Center. We talked about so many things, especially Biafraland. He praised the Most High God’s children for their resilience in these trying times. He said, “If you have eyes, you will see that Elohim is leading the fight Himself, because no mortal will take His glory.” Finally, he stated that the burden on him is solely for the benefit of everyone, regardless of faith or ethnicity. “Unu adala mba,” he concluded.

Mazi Nnamdi was convicted on terrorism charges by justice James Kolawole Omotosho of Federal High Court Abuja on the 20th of November, 2025. He was sentenced to life imprisonment under some strange conditions.

Kanu’s conviction has generated so much buzz locally and internationally as prominent political and religious leaders across regions of the Nigeria’s federation call for political solution to his ordeal.

Even though Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has initiated plans to appeal his conviction and sentencing, the southeast political and religious leaders have assured the Igbo populace that political solution will be explored to secure the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
