Man Canc£ls Wedding One Day Before Ceremony, Cites ‘Irreconcilable Developments’

A Nigerian man, Mr Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya, has announced the cancellation of his wedding to Miss Gift Oriaku barely a day before the ceremony was scheduled to take place.

The wedding had been fixed for Saturday, September 19, 2026, with family members, friends and well-wishers expected to join the couple for the celebration.

However, in a statement shared on Facebook, Ogbonnaya announced that the ceremony would no longer hold, citing what he described as “irreconcilable developments” that had recently emerged.

While he did not disclose the specific circumstances behind the decision, the would-be groom apologised to invited guests and members of the public for the sudden change of plans.

He also appealed for understanding, prayers and support as those involved navigate the development.

The latest cancellation comes after Ogbonnaya had reportedly called off an earlier scheduled wedding following the death of his father.

The development has generated reactions, particularly given the timing of the announcement, coming just hours before the planned ceremony.
