Lawyer, Onyesom Peace Udoka and Sister Released After Abduction in Abuja

Relief and celebration have greeted the safe release of a young lawyer, Onyesom Peace Udoka, and her sister, Gift, who were kidnapped while returning from the recent Call to Bar ceremony in Abuja.
The sisters were reportedly abducted along a highway on their way back from the event, throwing their family, friends, and the legal community into panic. Details of their captivity remain sketchy, but reliable sources confirmed on Tuesday that the duo have finally regained their freedom.
The incident sparked widespread concern across social media, with many Nigerians calling on security agencies to act swiftly to secure their release. Their abduction had also raised renewed questions about the safety of travelers along major roads in and out of Abuja.
While it is not yet clear if a ransom was paid for their release, family sources expressed gratitude to God and to all who stood in solidarity with prayers and support during the ordeal.
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has also welcomed the news, urging authorities to intensify efforts in tackling the menace of kidnappings which has continued to plague the nation.

For now, Onyesom and Gift are said to be receiving medical checks and reuniting with their family after the harrowing experience.
