Kogi Government Debunks Report of Sacking 25 Political Officials

The Kogi State Government has refuted claims circulating on social media alleging that 25 political officials were dismissed over purported political affiliations.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, described the report as “baseless and mischievous,” noting that only one Special Adviser was relieved of duty, strictly because his services were no longer required.

Fanwo clarified that no other government aide was removed, stressing that the action had no connection to political ties, loyalty, or association with any political figure.

He reaffirmed that the administration has no political dispute with anyone and remains focused on separating governance from politics to ensure continued development across the state.

The Commissioner also highlighted the government’s cordial relationship with Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, whom he described as a respected and illustrious son of Kogi State.

Fanwo urged the public to disregard the false report, which he said was aimed at creating tension and misleading the public.

Kogi State, he added, remains peaceful, united, and committed to progress.
