JUST IN: If Any Judge Handling My Case Got A House From Wike, I Will Tell Him To Recuse Himself’ – Sowore says 

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has alleged that he will demand the recusal of any judge handling his case who received a house from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, arguing that such a judge cannot deliver impartial justice.

Speaking on Symfoni TV, Sowore stated clearly, “If I hear that any judge handling my case is one of those judges who received a house from Wike, I will tell him to recuse himself. There is no way I can get justice from a judge who is living in that mansion.

In fact, the moment you accept that house, you will no longer be living in Nigeria mentally. You will not think like Nigeria. You will not behave like a Nigerian.

You will not see Nigeria. Those mansions are instruments of corruption, and those properties should be immediately reallocated to doctors,” he said.

Sowore argued that doctors would put the properties to far better use, adding that a single mansion could comfortably house up to ten young resident doctors who are working to save lives daily.

He also invoked the memory of late legal icon Gani Fawehinmi, who publicly challenged Supreme Court justices that accepted Mercedes-Benz vehicles from military ruler Ibrahim Babangida during the MKO Abiola election crisis. Those judges, Sowore argued, lost their moral clarity the moment they accepted those gifts, and their rulings have since faded into irrelevance.
