Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba has been placed under house arrest, and one of his sons has been detained on charges of “treason,” according to military officers.
This announcement comes hours after the officers declared the overthrow of the government.
In a statement broadcast on state TV, the military officers revealed, “President Ali Bongo is currently under house arrest, accompanied by his family and medical professionals.”
