Just In : CCTV Footage Exposes What Happened To Abuja ‘One Chance’ Victim
Greatness Olorunfemi, a victim of a one-chance incident, was sadly brought in dead to the Maitama District Hospital in Abuja, as reported by The Nation.
The deceased had been stabbed and thrown out of a moving vehicle along the Maitama-Kubwa highway. On September 26, when the incident occurred, she was promptly rushed to the Maitama District Hospital in Abuja.
There have been claims on social media that she was left unattended for about 20 minutes upon arrival at the hospital.
Additionally, it was alleged that the hospital demanded a police report before providing assistance, which reportedly led to her bleeding to death.
However, during a visit by The Nation to the hospital, they not only interacted with some hospital staff but also reviewed the CCTV footage alongside the hospital management led by Medical Director, Dr. Imuentinyan Igbinovia, and representatives of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
The CCTV footage revealed that Olorunfemi was brought into the hospital already deceased, and there was no request for a police report as she had already been confirmed dead. The allegation that the hospital took 20 minutes to attend to her was also disproven by the footage, which showed the vehicle arriving at the Emergency Unit entrance at 8:35 pm. A nurse came out to attend to her around 8:36 pm, and after a brief examination, it was evident that she had passed away.
Subsequent events were captured in the footage, including interactions with the man who recorded the viral video and the medical staff, all of which took place within a span of a few minutes.
The Vice President of CIPM, Abuja Chapter, Daniel Afolabi, stated that investigations were ongoing, and they were working to gather all the facts before issuing a public statement. He emphasized that various parties, including the police, YALI team, and the Minister of Health, were actively involved in the case.
