JUST IN: 11 Nigerians arrested in Thailand for suspected fraud

Eleven Nigerians have been arrested in Thailand for allegedly running an international romance scam syndicate.

The suspects were caught in a luxury condominium in Muang Thong Thani, where they were using laptops and mobile phones to scam Thai and foreign women. Investigations began after a Thai woman reported being defrauded by a Facebook user posing as a Chinese engineer, who convinced her to transfer over 2 million baht to a mule account.

The police also arrested two Ivorians and seized 34 electronic devices, including computers and smartphones..
