Iyabo Ojo addresses rumour of her arrest in Abuja
Iyabo Ojo, the Nollywood actress, has refuted claims of her arrest, branding the circulating reports as completely false and a malicious attempt to tarnish her reputation.
The rumours began on Monday when a blogger alleged that Ojo had been detained in Abuja.
The report claimed the arrest was connected to new evidence submitted in the ongoing investigation into the death of the singer Mohbad.
Addressing the speculation during a TikTok live session, Ojo firmly denied the story. She expressed her frustration with individuals who, she accused, deliberately use her name to generate online traffic and income.
“I do not know they keep peddling false rumours about me. To you all rumour mongers that spread fake news about me, it shall not be well with you. I am on my way to Abuja now and you said they arrested me, who did they arrest?,” she said.
“I have been quiet, allowing some of you to keep saying the rubbish you all have been saying, still you people would not rest. You would be making my fans worried and they start calling to check on me over something that is false. You all just want to use my name to make money.
“You would think you are using my name to make money to better your lives but instead you are heaping curses on your head because I am a special being. Anyone that wishes me bad, it will go back to the sender.”
