INEC Declares K/Namoda South House of Assembly By-Election in Zamfara Inconclusive
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the K/Namoda South House of Assembly by-election in Zamfara State inconclusive, following Saturday’s polling exercise.
According to official results released by INEC, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is currently in the lead with 7,001 votes, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) trails with 5,339 votes. This puts the APC ahead with a margin of 1,662 votes.
However, the election was declared inconclusive due to cancellations in certain polling units, where a total of 3,265 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) were collected. This figure exceeds the margin of lead between the two parties, prompting the decision in line with INEC’s guidelines on electoral margins and canceled votes.
