In what could be adjusted as a forthcoming Imo political Tsunami, the leadership of Imo state Chapter of the Obidient Youth Movement have signalled their readiness to join the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).


In a meeting held today at a renowned Foundation event centre along Onitsha Road which had the twenty-seven local government coordinators and 8 state officers of the group present, gave direct clue of the group to join the NNPP.

The secretary of the group who read out the communique state that the group is nolonger comfortably with the happenings in Labour Party at the state level and have often made their position known to the party that they supported Labour Party in the last outing because their prime principal; Peter Obi used.the Labour Ticket to run for the presidential seat on 25th February 2023.

The communique reads thus in parts:
We are the youth Wing of the Obidient Movement in Imo state from different political parties that supported Peter Obi and other Labour candidates in the just concluded elections in Imo state.

We have come to realise that the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) is more reliable, vision oriented, more youth accommodating and friendly, relatively ready to take over power from the old order for a new Imo and as such deserves our support especially now that a National Youth Ambassador and Icon like Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel is in the ballot.

We make bold to say that in.the coming weeks, we will prepare to empty our entire registered 465,676 Obidient Youth Movement members across the 305 Wards of Imo state into the New Imo Political family of Odunzeh-Godstime political lining.
