I’m not a poor politician,  I’ll remain in PDP – senator slams defectors

Abba Moro, the senate minority leader, says he has no plan to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Moro spoke on Wednesday during a consultative meeting with the PDP national working committee (NWC) led by Kabiru Turaki, the national chairman.

The opposition party has witnessed a raft of defections since the turn of the year.

The lawmaker said he and some members of the PDP are not desperate politicians and would not abandon the party because of intimidation or political pressure.

“I want to inform you, Mr chairman, that many of us here are not poor or desperate politicians. We are in PDP to stay. We are not in PDP for the sake of using the platform to win elections, and certainly not fixated on the 2027 elections. So, no amount of intimidating scenarios will push us out of PDP,” Moro said.
