“I Never Stole Taxpayers’ Money as Governor or Minister — My Critics Are Paid Enemies of Abuja’s Progress,” Wike Fires Back

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed allegations by what he described as enemies of Abuja’s development, accusing him of stealing taxpayers’ money during his tenure as Governor of Rivers State and repeating the same as FCT Minister.

Wike described the claims as politically motivated opposition, insisting they are part of a coordinated smear campaign aimed at discrediting the progress being recorded in the nation’s capital.

According to him, those spreading the allegations are being sponsored by forces uncomfortable with the reforms and visible developments taking place in Abuja.

The minister maintained that he did not enter politics to amass illicit wealth but to serve Nigerians, stressing that God has given him the opportunity to serve the country in public office for over 20 years.
