How The Government Should Deal With Sheikh Gumi And Others Opposed To Military Striking Bandits– Senator Shehu Sani

Former Nigerian senator, Shehu Sani has advised the Nigerian government on how to deal with those opposed to ongoing relentless military strikes on terrórists and bàndits in the Northwest and Northeast regions of Nigeria’s federation.

In what seems to be senator Shehu Sani’s direct response to controversial sheikh Ahmad Gumi’s agitation against intensified military action against terrórists and bàndits, senator Shehu Sani through his X (Twitter) handle on the 29th of December, enjoined the government of the federation to assemble those agitating against the ongoing military operation against bandits and terròrists and send them to terrórists infested communities for them to negotiate with them.

He stated that such persons should be able to deradicalized the terrórists through the non-viólence means they advocate for.

“Those who are opposed to striking those terrorists groups should be assembled and transported to the hinterlands of Zamfara and Sokoto or even Sambisa so that they can preach or talk or negotiate with them so that they will stop murdering and kidnapping our people. When one is opposed to one thing he should be able to do another”, Senator Shehu Sani stated.

Popular and controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi leads the voice of those agitating against military action against terrórists and bàndits. The Islamic cleric had severally appealed the the Nigeria’s authority to adopt non-viólence means in solving Nigeria’s insecurity, arguing that military action on the bàndits cum terrórists will be counterproductive.

Following the US government declaration of its interest in taming Nigeria’s insecurity occasioned by armed bándits, terrórists cum Jihadists, the Nigeria’s armed forces have doubled their efforts in fighting terrórism and bánditry especially in the northern part of the country.

This has resulted in so many terrórists’ hideouts being destroyed, kidnàpped hostages freed while scores of terrórists are kîlled daily to the delight of Nigerians and commendation from international community.
