How Fubara and Wike Clashed Over “Controversial Commissioner Nominee”– Fubara Ally reveals
New crisis brews in Rivers as governor Siminalayi Fubara and Nyesom Wike reportedly clashed over the nomination of two “controversial” persons by former governor Nyesom Wike for commissioner.
A top Rivers state government official who pleads anonymity, told the Reliant.ng that governor Sim Fubara rejected and insisted on the removal of two Wike’s loyalists from the commissioner nominee list, telling former governor Nyesom Wike to replace the two names with another nominees.
According to the source, governor Sim Fubara’s rejection of the two commissioner nominees from Nyesom Wike is due to their previous utterances about the governor and disrespect to him. Governor Fubara believes that he cannot accommodate the duo in his cabinet nor be able to work with them.
The source claimed that Chima Aguma and Roland Sekibo were initially nominated for commissioner but were later removed from the commissioner nominee lists after governor Fubara ordered that their names be removed from the list.
Chima Aguma and Roland Sekibo were nominated by the minister but their past utterances against the governor during the crisis made them unfit to work with the governor. The governor registered his concerns with the FCT, informing him to nominate another persons in their place”, the source stated.
The source also disclosed that former governor Nyesom Wike was initially hesitant to comply with the governors request, insisting that he will not replace the two. However, he was reminded that it was on his insistence that governor Sim Fubara disengaged his trusted allies, Edison Ehie as his chief of staff as well as his special advisers.
Wike was told to remember how he said that Edison Ehie and the governor’s special advisers must be sacked for peace to reign and the governor did so. So, he had no choice than to replace Chima Aguma and Roland Sekibo– the two will not work with his Excellency”.
