Hamas Returns Body of Israeli Soldier Lt. Hadar Goldin After Over a Decade

The International Red Cross has reportedly received a body from Hamas, which the militant group claims is that of Lt. Hadar Goldin, an Israeli soldier who was killed in Gaza more than ten years ago, the Israeli military confirmed.

Goldin’s death in 2014 during the Gaza conflict has long been a source of tension between Israel and Hamas, with his burial and remains remaining a sensitive issue for years. The return of the body could mark a significant moment in the ongoing conflict, though details about the circumstances of the recovery remain limited.

Israeli authorities are expected to conduct identification procedures to confirm the body, and military officials have not yet released additional statements about possible implications for negotiations with Hamas.
The move comes amid renewed focus on humanitarian channels, with the Red Cross acting as a neutral intermediary between both sides.

This development has been met with cautious attention from international observers, who note that while the return of remains is significant, it does not resolve the broader issues in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
