Gunmen Abduct ECWA Board Chairman, Rev. Sunday Agang
The cleric was reportedly taken from his residence in Farin Gida, Jos, by unknown gunmen.
Asenior clergy member of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) and Chairman of its Board of Trustees has been abducted in Plateau State, central Nigeria.

The development was confirmed by a source at the ECWA headquarters in Plateau State.
A message circulated on the Church’s official WhatsApp group also corroborated the reports, informing members of the incident and calling for prayers for the cleric’s safety and immediate release.
“We are deeply saddened to inform you that Rev. Prof. Sunday B. Agang, Chairman, ECWA Board of Trustees and former Provost of Jos ECWA Theological Seminary, was reportedly taken in the early hours of today,” it said.
“We call on all believers and people of goodwill to rise in earnest prayer at this critical time. Let us intercede for his divine protection, safety, and immediate release. We trust in God’s sovereignty and power to intervene and bring him back unharmed.
“’God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble -(Psalm 46:1). Please continue to stand in prayer,’” it added.
Similarly, eight members of the ECWA church were abducted in Kwara State on Sunday.
On Monday, SaharaReporters reported that residents of Omogo community in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State, had been plunged into fear and panic after suspected bandits attacked an ECWA service on Sunday, brutally assaulting elderly worshippers, including a 90-year-old blind woman, and abducting eight people, among them the wife of a pastor.
SaharaReporters gathered that the latest attack marks the third time bandits have invaded the community, raising fresh concerns over worsening insecurity in the area.
The kidnapped victims have been identified as Chief David Afolayan, Chief Joseph Ibitoye Afariogun, Mr Joshua Adeyemi Jogo, Mrs Rachel Omopariola, Mrs Mosúnmọ́lá Afolayan, Mrs Bukola Sunday, Mrs Anti (Mama Gbeke), and Mrs Remilekun Omole, the wife of the church pastor.
Recounting the harrowing incident, the pastor of the ECWA church, Omole Sunday Timothy, said the attack occurred during a worship session when armed men stormed the premises.
