Governor Fubara Reveals The Actual Cause Of His Renewed Fight With Wike

The governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara has responded to series of verbal attacks and allegation against him by his erstwhile principal and political godfather, Nyesom Wike.

Fubara who spoke today at an event he attended in Port Harcourt city, countered the narrative by FCT minister, Nyesom Wike that he has reneged on the agreement that necessitated his reinstatement at the end of the six month state of emergency and sole administration.

Recall that Nyesom Wike while speaking at Renewed Hope Initiative Rally which held in Emohua Local Government on 28th of December, accused governor Fubara of breaching their agreement. He insinuated that the governor’s sought for reelection in 2027 is in violation of the agreement they had. Wike also accused the governor of failing to restore his preferred chairman of the Rivers state council of traditional rulers who was removed from the position before the declaration of state of emergency by president Tinubu on Rivers state.

Governor Sim Fubara while speaking in Port Harcourt city today, revealed that he holds no grudge against former governor Nyesom Wike, whom he referred to as his boss. He stated that Nyesom Wike’s anger against him can not be justified. He accused the former governor of openly threatening the peace of the state by his utterances. And that Nyesom Wike can not justify his actions and utterances against him. He insinuated that the cause of his renewed crisis with Wike is his placing his personal interest against and above that of the state and its residents.

“My Oga the FCT Minister, I have no problem with him and I haven’t done anything against him. I don’t know why he seems to be always angry and making threats against the peace of the state but I don’t have any problem with him. My aim is progress of Rivers State. The state is bigger than everyone. The interest of Rivers state is above everybody’s interest”, Fubara stated
