Governor fires Newly Appointed Aide

According to Ireporter Online, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the immediate termination of the appointment of Ms Tinyan Otuomagie as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of New Edo Line Transport Services Limited.

The decision was made public in a statement released on Thursday in Benin City by the State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Uwuilekhue Saturday Idehen. The statement confirmed that the governor’s directive takes immediate effect, effectively bringing Ms Otuomagie’s tenure at the state-owned transport company to an end.

The state government noted that following the development, the General Manager in charge of Maintenance, Mr Smart Aigbodion, has been appointed as the Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of New Edo Line Transport Services Limited. He is expected to oversee the affairs of the company pending the appointment of a substantive Managing Director.

In addition, Governor Okpebholo directed that the relieved Managing Director be redeployed to the Ministry of Information for reassignment to other duties as may be determined by the state government.

The Edo State Government reiterated that all decisions announced take immediate effect, stressing that the move aligns with the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership structures within state-owned enterprises and improve service delivery across key sectors.
