Governor Dissolves  LG Service Commission Over Employment Racketeering Scandal

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has dissolved the Board of the Local Government Service Commission following confirmed reports of employment racketeering and alleged abuse of office during the Commission’s recent recruitment exercise.
The move comes as part of the governor’s commitment to restoring transparency and accountability within public institutions in the state. According to findings, the Commission was allegedly involved in fraudulent activities, including the illegal sale of job slots and manipulation of recruitment lists, compromising the integrity of the entire recruitment process.
