Government approves ₦20 million per LGA to renovate graveyards

The Katsina State Government, led by Governor Dikko Radda, has approved ₦20 million for each of the state’s local governments to renovate graveyards.

The governor stated this initiative is a way to serve the people and seek Allah’s blessings.
The government also announced a new welfare package for traditional and religious leaders. Under a new law, all District Heads will now earn salaries not less than Grade Level 16.

The new law will also provide monthly allowances for 6,652 ward heads, and stipends will be given to over 3,000 imams and their deputies.

In addition, 6,652 ward heads across the state will receive monthly allowances while more than 3, 000 Imams and their deputies from Friday Mosques will be supported with stipends.

“Furthermore, Izala and Darika Mosque sweepers in each of the 34 local government areas will also benefit from allowances.
