GOOD WORKS AND CONTRIBUTIONS THAT ATIKU HAS MADE IN NORTHERN NIGERIA AND THE COUNTRY
Below are some of the major humanitarian and developmental projects that the Honorable Waziri of Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (the compassionate helper of the poor) has built in Adamawa State, the Northern region, and Nigeria as a whole:
1.Atiku brought the Federal Medical Centre Yola (a federal specialist hospital).
2.Atiku ensured the upgrade of Yola Airport to an International Airport.
3.Atiku facilitated the installation of the electricity transmission line from Gombe, through Adamawa, to Jalingo in Taraba State.
4.During Atiku’s time, asphalt roads were constructed from Yola to Mubi.
5.During Atiku’s time, roads were tarred from Jabbi-Lamba to Malabu and Belel.
6.During Atiku’s time, roads were tarred from Ganye to Toungo up to Jamtari.
7.During Atiku’s time, roads were tarred from Jada to Kojoli.
8.During Atiku’s time, bridges were constructed along the Mayo-Belwa, Jada and Ganye road axis.
9.During Atiku’s time, the Federal Technical College Watu in Michika LGA was established.
10.During Atiku’s time, underground petroleum pipelines were laid from Port Harcourt to the NNPC Depot in Yola, Adamawa State.
11. Atiku brought the CGC water project to his hometown, Jada.
12.Atiku launched the affordable health insurance scheme (NHIS) in Jada and in Yola.
13.Atiku was the first to bring GSM mobile communication to Adamawa State.
14.Atiku established Gotel Radio Station and Radio Fombina FM, which people across Adamawa and neighbouring states use for communication.
15.In 2014, during the peak of the Boko Haram crisis, Atiku spent almost one billion naira of his own money to establish the Civilian JTF, who were familiar with Boko Haram tactics and assisted security forces in fighting terrorism.
16.Atiku founded the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, which includes:
•AUN Printing Press
•AUN Academy
•AUN Hotel
Thousands of people from both Northern and Southern Nigeria gained employment and benefit from these institutions.
18.Atiku led the struggle to protect Nigeria’s democracy by stopping Obasanjo’s third-term agenda. If Atiku had not opposed it, no politician today would have the chance to occupy political office.
19.In Adamawa, Atiku built:

•Adama Plastic
•Atiku Farms
•Chicken Cottage Yola
•Adama Beverage
Thousands of people gained employment and became self-reliant.
20.According to the Nigerian constitution, the Vice President handles the economic affairs of the nation. During Atiku’s tenure as Vice President, he led the repayment of Nigeria’s foreign debts.
21.Atiku led the federal government’s privatization policy, which created many of Nigeria’s major businessmen such as Dangote, Otedola and the Transcorp Group. He ensured dormant government assets were transferred to private investors, which increased national wealth and created thousands of jobs for young people.
22.Atiku led the sale of the collapsed NITEL, which paved the way for Nigerians to access GSM mobile phones.
23.Atiku built four primary schools in his hometown, Jada.
24.Atiku built the Government Science Secondary School in his hometown, Jada.
25.Atiku established a scholarship foundation for the less privileged in Jada, and every year he selects indigent students from every LGA in Adamawa State and sponsors them to university for free.
26.Atiku founded the Atiku Care Foundation, which supports IDPs, people with disabilities, orphans and sick people across Nigeria.
27.Atiku established another foundation to support traders and farmers in Yola and surrounding areas.
28.Atiku has sponsored many people for Hajj and Umrah. He is known for generosity, and through his kindness many people have become successful. His hands are always open for giving.
