Fuel Crisis Looms as Dangote Refinery Suspends Petrol Loading

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has halted petrol loading until further notice.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has stopped loading petrol at its facility, and tanker drivers have been asked to leave. This has sparked speculation that the refinery might announce another price hike, possibly by Monday. The refinery had recently increased its petrol price to ₦995 per litre, citing rising global crude oil prices and shipping costs .

Industry experts say previous pauses in petrol loading at the refinery have often preceded price adjustments. With the latest development, petrol might soon sell above ₦1,050 per litre, depending on transportation costs and marketers’ margins .
