Fubara Is Going To Benefit From Automatic Tickets Too, Nobody Is Going To Stop That—Rivers APC Chair

‎In an interview with Daily Independent on Monday, January 12, 2026, Emeka Bekee, factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has stated that Governor Siminalayi Fubara will run for the governorship election under the party in 2027.

‎Bekee explained that Fubara is expected to benefit from the same privileges given to other governors in the APC.

‎Sitting governors who join the party usually receive automatic tickets, and Fubara is likely to enjoy this advantage as he seeks reelection.

‎He added that nobody will stop Fubara from pursuing the party’s governorship ticket.

‎He also said that even if the party decides to hold a free and fair primary, Fubara remains a strong contender, should he emerge as the winner of the primaries, he will officially become the APC candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

‎Bekee stressed that Rivers State must focus on moving forward, he noted that the party wants to avoid unnecessary political crises and ensure a smooth process for the next election.

“Fubara is going to run for the governorship election for APC in 2027. Even all the governors who have joined the party, they have automatic tickets. He’s going to benefit from that too. Nobody is going to stop that,” he said
