Four Travellers Abducted In Broad Daylight By Bandits In Kogi’s Yagba East
The incident, which reportedly occurred around 2:00 p.m., has further heightened fear in the area, already plagued by a surge in kidnappings and armed raids.
Bandits on Sunday afternoon, December 7, 2025, launched yet another violent attack along the Odo-Ogbe axis in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, abducting four travellers in broad daylight.
The incident, which reportedly occurred around 2:00 p.m., has further heightened fear in the area, already plagued by a surge in kidnappings and armed raids.
According to sources, the victims were travelling on a motorcycle when the gunmen ambushed them on the isolated rural road.
The attackers overpowered the riders and forcibly led all four victims into the nearby forest.
Among those abducted is a young man identified by community members as Oju Lari, whose photograph has since been circulated locally in a bid to trace his whereabouts.
“They blocked the road suddenly and dragged them into the bush. The operation didn’t last more than a few minutes,” a resident who witnessed the aftermath told reporters. “This road has become a hot zone. People are terrified to pass here.”
Community leaders are again calling on security agencies and the Kogi State Government to deploy urgent, sustained action to restore safety, warning that many residents now live in constant fear as rural mobility collapses.
As of filing this report, security forces have not released any official statement, and the whereabouts of the abducted victims remain unknown.
