In a move to bolster regulatory effectiveness and enhance governance standards, a high-level national conference and workshop on “Regulating for Global Standards and Best Practices” is set to hold from August 28 to 29, 2025, at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Kubwa, Abuja.
The event, organized by Allied Bond Consulting in collaboration with PIFS Conferences and Seminars, was announced in a press statement by Programme Coordinator, Sir T. Willie Tawo. The initiative is geared towards repositioning Nigeria’s regulatory bodies in alignment with global best practices and the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to the organizers, the programme will address pressing challenges facing regulatory institutions, including overlapping jurisdictions, regulatory conflicts, divergent enforcement strategies, and weaknesses in legal and institutional frameworks. The goal, they said, is to develop actionable strategies for strengthening regulatory institutions for improved service delivery and governance outcomes.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, His Excellency Senator Dr. George Akume, CON, will serve as Special Guest of Honour and is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony.
The workshop is targeted at senior officials of regulatory bodies, particularly Heads and Directors responsible for Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Legal Matters, Standards, and Service Delivery (Servicom).
