Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima MFR (Omeudo)’s ₦20 million Egbema Festival Scouting Football Competition came to a colorful end in Etekwuru town, with Hon. Andrew Azunnia Nwokotubo (VOCOR), former MD of ISOPADEC and illustrious son of Etekwuru, leading the grand finale to its conclusion.
It was a joyful and electrifying atmosphere as Etekwuru hosted the finals of the most prestigious football scouting competition in Egbema, powered by the foremost peace builder, Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima (Omeudo).
The thrilling finale saw Umuajuga village lock horns with Umuobuogodo village in a highly contested match. After a full-time draw, the game proceeded to a penalty shootout where Umuajuga emerged champions, Umuobuogodo claimed second place, while Umuaroke village secured the third position. All participating teams received full rewards immediately after the match.
The mammoth crowd that stormed the pitch in solidarity commended Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima MFR for this life changing initiative and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the erstwhile member representing Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, and Oru West Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
In his remarks, Hon. Vocor applauded the players and spectators for their peaceful and coordinated conduct throughout the tournament. Together with Chief Elder Shedrack Adimonye, the Eze Ezhi (traditional ruler) of Umuajuga village, he had the honor of presenting the coveted trophy to the winners.
Speaking afterwards, Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima (Omeudo) praised the people of Etekwuru for hosting a successful finale. He reassured them that this tournament is just the beginning, “a tip of the iceberg” of greater empowerment and development projects yet to come.
