EFCC Seizes Manager’s House, Cars, Properties Over Alleged N500m Diversion

The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Abdulazeez Gbadebo, the station manager at Emadeb Energy Service Limited, on allegations of diverting company funds totaling N500 million.

The arrest followed a petition from Emadeb Energy Service Ltd to the EFCC, as stated in a commission announcement on Thursday.

The company alleged that an external audit revealed Gbadebo’s manipulation of pump meters, diversion of bulk petrol sales, and the funneling of proceeds totaling half a billion naira into his personal bank account.

The EFCC revealed that the Commission’s investigations uncovered that the suspect sold large quantities of petrol and diesel to various individuals, receiving payments through his personal bank accounts.

The agency stated that a number of high-value assets were seized from the suspect, including an ash-colored Mercedes Benz, two ash-colored Mini Coopers, a green Mini Cooper, and a white Mercedes Benz GLK.

Additionally seized were a certificate of occupancy with the file number KDL328159, an authorization letter from the Kaduna Geographical Information System (KADGIS), a fully detached three-bedroom bungalow, and three parcels of land.

“The EFCC stated that he will be brought to court as soon as the investigations are finished.”
