DJ Cuppy shares hospital conversation with Anthony Joshua after tragic accident that killed his two friends

Billionaire daughter, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, professionally known as DJ Cuppy, has shared details of a private conversation she had with heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua while he was receiving treatment in hospital following a tragic road accident that claimed the lives of two of his close friends.

In an emotional post shared on her LinkedIn page, the DJ and philanthropist reflected on how quickly life can change and stressed the importance of expressing love to friends while there is still time.

She revealed that Joshua called her from the hospital, and the conversation was simply to check on his wellbeing and to remind him that he is loved and cared for.

DJ Cuppy also mourned the loss of Latif and Sina, whom she said she knew personally, describing them as Joshua’s closest friends. She noted that ending the year with such a painful loss was difficult, but expressed faith in God’s plan despite the tragedy.

She urged people not to take their friendships for granted, encouraging them to reach out, make calls, and tell loved ones how they feel while they still can.

The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, December 29, 2025, in Ogun State, Nigeria. Reports stated that Anthony Joshua was involved in a road accident shortly after arriving in the country with his associates to spend the New Year holidays with family and friends.

According to sources, Latif and Sina were seated in the front of the vehicle at the time of the crash, while Joshua was seated in the back. The two men died at the scene, while Joshua was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

DJ Cuppy wrote, “Why do I think telling your friends you love them is important❔Life can change so fast and love should never be unsaid 🤍

(I am only posting this on LinkedIn because this community knows how to hold space with respect, maturity, and care btw)

This week reminded me how quickly everything can change. My friend Anthony Joshua had his life turned upside down. Everyone knows about his car accident, but what I feel most grateful for is something very simple…

He called me from hospital yesterday and I was able to speak to him on the phone. Not for noise. Not for the internet. Just to tell him that I LOVE him and CARE about him. I am thankful not just for our friendship, but for having the chance to say what truly matters while I still could.

I am also carrying the death of Lats and Sina who I knew as well. AJ’s BEST friends. Lord have mercy.

Ending the year with this kind of pain is hard, but I am choosing to trust that God still has a plan even when it does not make sense.

Please LinkedIn do NOT take your friendships for granted. Say it. Call them. Tell people you love them while you have the chance.

Thank You God for life 🤍.”
